International Mr. Leather set
to transfer to the Renslow Charitable Foundation
benefiting the Leather
Archives |
Renslow cited the creation of the foundation as a way for International Mr. Leather to benefit the international kink and fetish community directly. "I am pleased to announce that all profits from the annual IML contest will flow back to the leather tribe through the LA&M -- the only organization that preserves, displays and celebrates the history of IML, the leather tribe, and the expanding international kink and fetish community." The Trustees of the Renslow Charitable Foundation will operate the International Mr. Leather Weekend and ensure that all proceeds benefit the LA&M when Renslow retires as IML Executive Producer. Rick Storer, LA&M Executive Director was overjoyed but not surprised by the announcement. "All of us in the LA&M family are grateful for the continued support and leadership of our founder, Chuck Renslow. Once again, Chuck is setting a stellar example of how each of us can generously support and serve the community that makes our lifestyle real, fun and possible." |

About
International Mr. Leather, Inc.
The world's leathermen come together to compete for the title of International Mr. Leather each Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago. About 400 gay men gathered in Chicago in 1979 for the first International Mr. Leather contest. Today, the event has grown to be an annual tradition for thousands in the kink and fetish community - drawing contestants and attendees from around the globe. Once an event for "hardcore" leathermen, IML has expanded in recent years to include a more diverse crowd - including women, transgender persons and anyone else curious about leather.
