Tony and Chuck Renslow cut the ribbon at the Grand Opening of the LA&M's first home located in a storefront next to the Chicago Eagle, in Chicago in 1996. The space included a small exhibit space, an even smaller storage space and a small office for the staff.
Some of the people in attendance at the Ribbon Cutting. With donations pouring in, the tiny storefront grew too small to accommodate the growing collections.
