About

Cycle MC [Motorcycle Club] was a social bike club for gay men in New York City from April 1968 to April 1982.  The club's span of existence mirrored an explosion of growth in the leather and BDSM organizational subculture.   At the time of its founding in 1968, only 21 similar clubs existed in the world.   At the club’s end, well over 1,000 gay motorcycle clubs, leather / levi clubs and s/m [sadomasochism] clubs had started around the world.   Cycle MC was a major influence in the development of these clubs.   Cycle traveled around the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia on a frequent basis.   They also hosted many clubs when they visited New York City.  When Cycle disbanded in 1982, it merged into Wheels MC, another bike club in NYC.
