Chuck Windemuth - Roadshow Director

Chuck began his leather journey in Chicago in 1988 after a 1st visit to Chicago’s legendary leather bar, Touche located on Lincoln Avenue. Soon afterwards, he entered and won the title of Mr. Chicago Leather 1991 and entered IML 1991, placing as a top 10 finalist and had a true leather life changing experience in the process.

In 2003, Chuck teamed up with Touche bar owner Chuck Rodocker and producer David Boyer to revive and co-produce a dormant Mr. Chicago Leather contest, revived in 2004. Along with contest preparations, Chuck Co-founded with Thom Dombkowski, former IML Chief Judge, the Chicago Leather Kennel Club, NPO www.leatherkennel.org. A registered NPO and solely self-supported, the CLKC is comprised of a team of various contest titleholders, both former and current, along with noted and respected community leather/rubber leaders that all provide ‘voluntary’ support and mentoring, free of charge, to aspiring leather/rubber contestants entering a 1st leather contest event. The CLKC provides various methods of support to any titleholders headed towards regional, national and international competitions.

In 2007, the CLKC also conducted several innovative contestant preparation seminars at various local clubs and events including the Mr. Rumors Leather 2007 Contest, Leather Leadership XI Conference and made a 2nd appearance at CLAW 2007 in Cleveland, OH, this year co-sponsoring the Educational Mart. For the remainder of the year, a third CLKC seminar is scheduled during Folsom Fringe in San Jose, CA. being held in September 2007.

Additionally, Chuck is also the Director of the Leather Archives and Museum “Road Show” Program. Working directly with Rick Storer, Jeffrey Storer and an outstanding staff of dedicated Road Show volunteers, the LA&M Road Show staff schedules exhibit LA&M Road Show appearances, designs each exhibit per event and provides personal team staffing at various gay and heterosexual leather/BDSM/kink events worldwide.

A new and popular ‘enhancement’ to our 2007 LA&M traveling displays is the addition of eye-catching lighting and actual donated ‘artifacts’, specific to any region of presentation and event themes being held. This improvement allows all that attend to view our rich leather history through printed materials on display boards, along with a ‘see and feel’ opportunity of donated artifacts which showcase what the LA&M has to offer the world.

At the 2007 Pantheon of Leather Awards Ceremony in Chicago, IL, Chuck was honored with 3 individual Pantheon nominations as “Man of the Year”, “Community Choice Award - Man” and “Midwest Regional”. Special recognition was also given to the Chicago Leather Kennel Club, NPO in receiving a Pantheon nomination as “Small Club of the Year”.

Contest judging appearances in 2007 include the Mr. and Ms. Olympus 2007 Contest at the Chicago Eagle, Mr. Rumors Leather 2007 Contest in Grand Rapids. MI., served as Head Judge for the Mr. Midwest Leather 2007 Contest held at JJ’s Clubhouse Bar in St. Louis, MO. and the Mr. Michigan Leather 2008 Contest held at The Dunes Resort located in Saugatuck, MI.

A native of Cumberland, Maryland, Chuck resides in Chicago and works as an International Purser for a major US airline, based in Chicago for the past 24 years.
