Biographical Note

Very little is known about the creator of the records, Ed H. Ed was a member of the Chicago Cossacks Brotherhood from the late 1970s through the mid 1980s.

The Chicago Cossacks Brotherhood was a social leather / levi club in Chicago, IL. The club was founded in 1975. The exact date of dissolution is unknown, but this collection contains a check issued on November 15, 1986 with a memo “to close account”. The Cossacks held bar nights at several Chicago bars including The Gold Coast and Touché. The club helped organize the Wild Onion runs in the early 1980s with other Chicago clubs. The Cossacks attended runs in cities across the Midwest during their existence. The Cossacks held anniversary celebrations on an annual basis, and produced a bar event call “Russian Christmas”. The club was a member of the Chicago Council of Clubs.
