Detailed Description of the Collection

The collection documents Dennis' life from 1977 when he worked for Renslow and Associates in Chicago, IL through 1994. There are twelve spiral bound notebooks in the collection that contain diary entries and poems written by Dennis from 1977 to 1986. Also included is one folder of correspondence from Dennis to Chuck Renslow from the mid 1980s through 1994. These pieces of correspondence have been added to the collection by Chuck Renslow, and are retained in their original envelopes. Chuck Renslow also added a folder of legal documents and check stubs from a rent based court case involving Dennis in the late 1970s. Personnel information from Dennis' employment with Renslow and Associates is also included in this folder.
Approximately 20 pieces of Dennis' art composed under the name Deni Deco is included in the collection. Several of the pieces of art have correspondence to Chuck Renslow written on the back of them. Approximately 10 photographs of Dennis are in the collection, including a print by Robert Mapplethorpe with Dennis as the model. Dennis' acting resume is attached to one of the photographs. A 1977 Target Studios calendar is also in the collection. Dennis is featured on the cover of the calendar.
