Biographical Note

Crucible MC was an motorcycle club in Pittsburgh, PA. The founding dates and dissolution dates of the club are unclear. The constitution and by-laws show an amendment date of March 1982. The last minutes date is from June of 1994. Crucible MC was a fraternal and social organization. They held bar nights, fundraisers and attended runs and events of other similar clubs. The club's home bar from 1984 to the late 1980s or early 1990s was the Pittsburgh Trucking Company bar. The subsequent home bar was Brewers. The club applied to become members of the Atlantic Motorcycle Coordinating Council in 1983. The club interacted with the Pittsburgh Motorcycle Club throughout its existence.

Detailed Description of the Collection

The collection consists of one archival box and one storage container. The archival box contains records of the club, and the storage container contains artifacts related to the club and a memory album. Multiple versions of the organization's constitution and by-laws are in the collection. The club records include meeting minutes from 1982 to 1994. The meeting minutes include handwritten drafts as well as final copies. Extensive financial information is included in the collection from 1992 and 1993. There is one folder on the Mr. American Cowboy 1993 contest, sponsored by the club. Finally, the collection contains membership applications from members.

The memory album consists of news clippings, photographs, club flyers and other ephemeral papers from throughout the club's existence.

The collection also contains several artifacts related to the club. 4 plaques, assorted name badges and officer badges, and a Mr. Mid Atlantic Leather 1993 contestant number and medallion for Fred Griffith. The artifacts container also includes a club rolodex with contact information for members and other clubs.
