Ray Castro An award winning artist since childhood, Mr. Castro has earned degrees from the New Mexico State University and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world in both group and solo shows, while his patron list includes such notables as Mick Jagger, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Hyatt and the Barnett family.

Now living in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Castro is currently working to create a network of erotic artists and traveling art shows. The base of operations for this endeavor is his 8th Street Art Gallery, a venue uniquely devoted to representing gay and erotic artists.

In his capacity as official portrait artist for the International Ms. Leather and the International Master and slave contests, Mr. Castro’s work captures the essence of the individuals chosen to represent our communities. Preliminary drawings for these paintings are donated to the Leather Archives.

Future plans include creating local Leather Pride and bringing the Tom of Finland Foundation to Jacksonville.

Mr. Castro continues to work on his evolution of bringing art and lifestyle closer together. He feels that the act of creation feeds the soul and is especially complimentary to the spirituality of B.D.S.M. His emphasis has always been upon B.D.S.M. as a positive and healthy force in the lives of those who practice it.

Mr. Castro is partnered in all he does by his wife Patty, his lover of nine years the artist Mr. Devin Wilson, and his devoted boy marc. Currently, he is completing several commissions and other personal projects.
